Q&A

Do you have wood plugs for XL size pocket holes? If not, how would you suggest I cover the XL size pocket holes
We do not have pre-made XL plugs. First thing is if you have the 720 Jig, you can purchase the Plug Cutter Kit and the XL bit to cut those plugs. Second thing you can do is use 1/2" wooden dowels cut down to glue in place.
Do you make plugs for the xl jig ?
We do not make plugs for the XL holes. You can cut plugs if you have the 720 Jig and the Plug cutter. Or you can use 1/2" wooden dowels to glue in and cut flush.
Are you going to make/sell an XL size plug? Does anyone?
We do not make any premade plugs for the XL holes. You can use the plug cutter if you have the 720 Jig or 1/2" wood dowels.
What plug species should I use for plywood
That will all depend on what you are doing with it. If the plywood is oak veneer and you are staining it, I would go with the Oak. If it is going to be painted, you can go with the paint grade or any of them.
How are these supposed to work with1 1/2 thick material? When you change the depth of the hole .
You will want to put glue in the hole and then when you push the plugs in the hole, push them just so they are proud of the surface. After they dry, then sand them down.
Do you make a plug in birch?
At this time, we do not have a birch plug
So, the pocket hole plugs are for use with materials from 1/2"- to 1 1/2", but the plug and pocket hole are unknown. I'm assuming both diameters are compatible, but I just need to confirm, since there's no info listed on either one. What is the diameter of the pocket hole? Plug? Thank you.
We have two different size plugs. We have the Standard which is 3/8" in diameter. That works with the R3, 310, 320, 520, 720 and K4. Then we have the Micro which is 19/64". That will work with the Jig Micro or the micro blocks for the 520 or 720.
Can I get these in treated wood to use outside?
If you are going to completey seal the lumber, yes. If they are going to be exposed, it will not last as long as the treated as they are not made to be exposed to the elements.
Will the pine plugs accept a wood stain? I want them to match to a stained beam
Yes, it will accept stain.
Where can I find the HD wood plugs.
We currently do not have any XL/HD Plugs. You can use 1/2" wooden dowels in those holes.
