Simple and efficient tool!

"I had to do blocking prior to installing the kitchen cabinets. The only way to pull it off was to do cutouts in the drywall and secure wood blocks with pocket screws. This jig allowed me to do that!"

A Must Have For 2 x Material

"The XL jig is must have for 2x material. The jig is easy to use and helps you build solid projects with higher load capabilities. If you're building shelving, you need this jig. I used the XL jig to build a shelf system in the garage."

PaPop (5/5)

Useful but not rugged

"My wife got this for me, and I love it. But, the slide stop on the bottom broke the first time I used it."

Jeff (3/5)

Right tool for the job with some limitations

"As others have mentioned, the quality of this Kreg product was poorer than other Kreg products. The hex key is sloppy, i. e. , the wrong size and the clamp "adapter" doesn't fit into the jig as shown in the manual. The manual itself is minimal and the pictures/descriptions are unclear/lacking. The jig does work; one just needs to spend some time experimenting. It also has a tendency to move when using Kreg face clamps. Using another brand of one-handed clamp solved that problem."

Q&A

I bought the Pocket-Hole Jig XL because I am building a table out of true 2" x 4" boards, not modern 2x4-sized boards. What depth should I set the stop collar to for boards that are 2 inches by 4 inches to get the right depth for the pocket holes? Also, what size screws should I use?
You will use the XL 2-1/2" screws for your 2x material.
Does this jig work with a mitered corner joint?
Yes, it will work on miter corners.
Can the XL screws be used with the HD pocket hole jig
Yes, They are the same screws.
Which Kreg clamp will fit in the Easy-Set Stop Collar and be able to hold both a 2x4 and 4x4?
I would look at using the KHC6 6" Project Clamp.
About 1/2” of the front part of the drill bit sheared of drilling into pine after 10 holes, is this just bad luck for a consumable part or a fault?

Does this jig do smaller Size timber aswell
The XL works with lumber thickness of 1-1/2" and larger.
Are these prices in US funds?
All prices on our site are in USD.
What are the settings and screw size for the jig if the holes are in a 4x4 going into a 2” nominal table top.
When working with lumber of two different thicknesses, you will be using the smaller thickness setting and screw size. So you will set the jig/bit to the 1-1/2" settings with the 2-1/2" screws.
Building an outside sink using 2x6x8 cedar boards and 4x4 for legs. Looking at the Kreg website it recommends 4-inch screws for 4x4. This is my first time building an outdoor sink project. I am spacing the 4-inch screws every 16 inches, plus one at each end. And hope this works to keep the board together. Any input? thanks
Yes, that will be plenty of strength for that project.
