Better than Quick-Grip!

"I have been purchasing and using woodworking clamps for over 40 years, and my go-to has (had) always been the Irwin Quick-Grip clamps. They are strong and reliable, and I own them in all sizes. I was skeptical about trying out the Kreg VersaGrip clamps until I got my hands on one (actually, several, as I purchased a variety set). To me, it surpasses the Irwin in usability and versatility--kind of like a better mouse trap. The ability to easily reverse the clamp heads and switch from clamping to expansion is a game-changer. Quick-Grip released that feature years ago, but you had to buy an entirely new (heavier) clamp. I didn't want to get rid of all of my old clamps and purchase replacements, so I just made do with what I had. Kreg clamps will be my new go-to for the foreseeable future, and not just on pocket hole clamping projects!"

Q&A

Hello! We have a set of these clamps and noticed that underneath the rubber pads there is a round rubber piece and a keyhole shape in the plastic part and are curious as to the function of this?
That is for different clamping scenarios to be used with the jigs.
How many of these clamps come in the bundle?
We do not have a bundle for the clamps.
Your ad shows a bundle but I don’t see that option?
The bundle was for a Black Friday sale only.
Where are they manufactured?
These are made overseas.
I would like to buy a complete set of 4 clamps. Do you have a package deal?
We only sell the clamps individually. We do not sell a package.
What is the grip range of these clamps?
The size you see on the discription will the the clamping capacity.
Hello, what is the actual clamping space of these clamps? Does 6” inches mean you can clamp material at 6 inches or is that measurement the length of the bar on the clamp?
Yes, if it says 6", it will clamp 6" between the jaws.
Are these made in the USA?
These clamps are made overseas.
Why are the clamp pads/jaws not parallel when I squeeze them together?
The tapered design ensures that the tip of the jaw is the first part to contact your workpiece; this contributes to the clamp’s holding power and reliability under heavy loads. As more clamping pressure is applied, the faces become parallel with each other.
I’m trying to use this clamp for the first time; I’m having difficulty sliding the second jaw.
The design and manufacturing process that ensures superior clamping force and holding power sometimes results in the bar “catching” on the jaw until it is broken in a bit. We recommend that you slide it back and forth a few times to break it in. Make sure you are applying even pressure across the button and firmly pressing the entire button down. This typically becomes second nature once you’ve gained a little familiarity with the clamp through use.
