Does the short section of hose you show in the picture come with the separator?

Yes, that hose will come with.

Will this work effectively when sanding auto body filler

As this was designed for using with sawdust, we have not tested it on auto body filler. However, it should work capturing the fine dust for this application.

Will it will it work with the exhaust blast out of a DeWalt dw735 planer?

It should work fine for the volume and size of wood chips however for fitment with the dust port may need an adapter as we have not tested fitment with planers or other stand-alone tools.

What happens to heavier items, like nail, screws, and staples? I really want a seperator for metallic debris.

Sharp items may damage the plastic over time.

Would this unit work with dust and smoke from a laser carving machine

We do not recommend using the dust extractor with this type of machinery due to the high heat of the pieces coming off. Being contained could cause a possible safety concern.

Why can’t I get one of your dust collectors in the UK….I’ve tried several times but can’t complete the form ….no state etc….any help as I’ve nearly finished the new workshop and will be installing a large drum sander….from.which I understand a lot of dust is produced……any help please…..thanks David Stroud

Yep, this will work great those fine dust that commonly fill up dust filters

I have two questions: (1) is there a minimum horsepower requirement for the vacuum so that the Dust Separator works effectively? (2) is there a way to properly ground the Dust Separator to reduce/eliminate static electricity?

You will want to make sure you have at least a 5HP vacuum. We provide a grounding screw for you to attach a wire to your grounding source to reduce your static electricity buildup.
