This clamp will not clamp, it sticks all the time. What am I doing wrong????

Let’s try and do a reset and see if we can get it to work. Open the jaws of the clamp and back out the adjustment screw to the point where it is loose but not falling out. You should see around 3/8" of threads between the bottom of the head of the screw to where it goes into the handle. You will close the jaws of the clamp all the way, then open them back up. After that, bring the adjustment screw back to the positive about halfway and try to clamp it down. That adjustment is not an exact adjustment as you may have to tighten or loosen it to get the correct pressure you want to apply. When you are using the clamp, you will want to make sure you are opening the clamp fully when you are moving the clamp. This will allow the Automaxx system to reset to zero each time. You should only need to adjust the adjustment screw if you need to add or take out pressure from the clamp as the clamp will adjust to different thicknesses on its own. If after the reset the clamp is still not working correctly, please contact us by phone at 1-800-447-8638 M-F 8-5 CST with the clamp in hand so we can find another solution.

The Bench Clamp will not work in standard t-tracks as the tracks will not withstand the pressure applied by those clamps. You will need to use the Clamp Trak, Clamp Base or Clamp Plate.

Once open, turn set screw one-half turn (to the positive for more pressure, to the negative for less pressure) to adjust. Try out the clamp on the same material and repeat these steps until the desired pressure is found. Once you are happy with the clamping pressure, the clamp will maintain this same pressure until you change the setting again. If you would like to increase or decrease clamping pressure, follow the previous steps until the appropriate pressure is met. To ensure consistent pressure, open the clamp handles completely each time you move the clamp. This allows the Kreg Automaxx system to reset for the correct clamping pressure. I am sorry to say, the Bench Clamps will not work in a standard t-track as the t-tracks are not strong enough to hold up to the pressure created by the clamp. You will need to use the Clamp Tracks, Clamp Bases or Clamp plate with the Bench Clamps.
