Trak size missing...

"The mounting screw is 5/16" and the head will not fit standard quarter inch T-track. Be aware not to set it for too much pressure because it will warp your track. Mine is in use on a Pantorouter table with the pressure set down. I am unable yet to use it on my drill press which uses quarter inch track. Can't find a 5/16" bolt with head to fit the quarter inch track. The Kreg track which might be a fit is a big cost solution."

Is what it is

"Well made, very strong."

Well made!

"Another good Kreg-ster. I haven't used it much yet, but I might suggest a fixed pin that holds the clamp to the slot, rather than an adjustable one. But my opinion may change after much use. I bought a second one to go on my Kreg Mobile work center, seems I always need at least 2."

Q&A

This clamp will not clamp, it sticks all the time. What am I doing wrong????
Let’s try and do a reset and see if we can get it to work. Open the jaws of the clamp and back out the adjustment screw to the point where it is loose but not falling out. You should see around 3/8" of threads between the bottom of the head of the screw to where it goes into the handle. You will close the jaws of the clamp all the way, then open them back up. After that, bring the adjustment screw back to the positive about halfway and try to clamp it down. That adjustment is not an exact adjustment as you may have to tighten or loosen it to get the correct pressure you want to apply. When you are using the clamp, you will want to make sure you are opening the clamp fully when you are moving the clamp. This will allow the Automaxx system to reset to zero each time. You should only need to adjust the adjustment screw if you need to add or take out pressure from the clamp as the clamp will adjust to different thicknesses on its own. If after the reset the clamp is still not working correctly, please contact us by phone at 1-800-447-8638 M-F 8-5 CST with the clamp in hand so we can find another solution.
What is the size and thread of the machine screw that goes into the clamp itself? (Not the base)
That bolt is a 5/16-18 x 3/4".
Will Item#: KBC3 3" Bench clamp work with Rockler standard T Track?
The Bench Clamp will not work in standard t-tracks as the tracks will not withstand the pressure applied by those clamps. You will need to use the Clamp Trak, Clamp Base or Clamp Plate.
Will the Bench Clamp’s non-marring clamp pad work on the Face Clamps?
Due to different head styles, the non-marring pad that comes with your Bench Clamp™ will not work with our Face Clamp™ family. Non-marring pads are usually unnecessary when using our Face Clamps™, as they are generally not used to apply the same amount of clamping pressure as our Bench Clamps™ are.
How do I adjust my Automaxx® Clamps?
Kreg® Clamps with Automaxx® make clamping faster and easier than ever by adjusting automatically to clamp materials that are thick, thin, or in between. With Automaxx, there’s no fussing with knobs that adjust the clamp capacity, no fiddling to get the exact pressure you want, no need for thickness adjustment at all — just powerful, predictable clamping every time. Below are some helpful hints to ensure your clamping experience is consistent every time. Remove the clamp from the packaging and test the clamp pressure on your material. If you are happy with the pressure of the clamp, no further adjustment is needed. If you would like more/less clamping pressure, simply open the clamp handles fully. Once open, turn set screw one-half turn (to the positive for more pressure, to the negative for less pressure) to adjust. Try out the clamp on the same material and repeat these steps until the desired pressure is found. Once you are happy with the clamping pressure, the clamp will maintain this same pressure until you change the setting again. If you would like to increase or decrease clamping pressure, follow the previous steps until the appropriate pressure is met. To ensure consistent pressure, open the clamp handles completely each time you move the clamp. This allows the Kreg Automaxx system to reset for the correct clamping pressure. Following these steps will ensure that these clamps will perform their best for all your project-building needs. What is the thread size of the bolt that slides in the track?
That bolt is a 5/16"-18 x 3/4" long.
what is the thread size of the base/mounting screw?
The Bench Clamp bolt is a 5/16"-18 x 3/4".
Will this work on a drill press with T-track slots that are 1/2"w x 5/8"d ?
I am sorry to say, the Bench Clamps will not work in a standard t-track as the t-tracks are not strong enough to hold up to the pressure created by the clamp. You will need to use the Clamp Tracks, Clamp Bases or Clamp plate with the Bench Clamps.
