Love it, I have been

"Love it, I have been working with a jig that I purchased many years ago. I thought the drill bit bushing might be getting a little weak, so I purchased a new kit, during a sale. I love it. the new kit has a few more advantages built into it. This new kit has three different size of wood adjustments to drill, all with a slide of wood on the drill guide and also a adjustable drill depth in the case for the drill bit. Great, no more trying on scrap wood to get the set up correct, just set it and go."

Handy tool and very versatile.

"Handy tool and very versatile. Can use it on a partially constructed project as long as you can clamp it down. No need to put every individual board into a jig before drilling pocket holes."

Pocket holes

"First time ever making pocket holes using didn't! material so I was afraid of splitting wood. As expensive as wood is I didn't won't that. I did think I ordered a 2 hole jig but I didn't! Think I actually have more control with my placement. I feel so accomplished. Couldn't be happier!"

Works great, but stopped locking in place

"Jig works great for pocket holes. It did a good job on my first project. However, after the first project the jig stopped locking in place snuggly with the grey tab. I'm still using the same jig because I don't want to have to buy another one. It still makes accurate holes, but adds to the time of construction because I have to keep making sure the jig is in the correct place."

Love this little jig

"I purchased this as a replacement for the one side of my Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig 320 after I broke the little grey sliding clip, it worked perfectly, eventually I broke this ones clip too, and upgraded to a K4 Master Jig system, as I could foresee with the amount of pocket holes I make, it would be better than purchasing Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig 310s every time I broke the little clips. I do wish it came with another spacer, so I could just clip a few 320s and 310s together to create any configuration I want when working with very wide timber beams, I have managed to put about 10 together and create my own jig from it, its a massive time saver when roofing."

Q&A

Is there a specific clamp that only works with this? Or can I use a C-clamp.
You can use any clamp on this jig to hold it into place.
I have some chairs that are a little wobbly, and I simply want to strengthen an existing joint without disassembling the chair. All of the pictures of the jigs show a freestanding piece of wood where the jig extends beyond the end of it. Do you have a jig that would work in my situation, where there is already an existing joint?
You will want to use a portable style jig. So like the R3, 310 or 320 Jig.
Will the bit that comes this product also work for my K4?
Yes, they will be the same size bit.
My husband has the KPHJ310 - what plug cutter can I buy him that is compatible with it?
There are no plug cutters that will work with the 320. You will need to own the 720 jig and the plug cutting block to make plugs.
Can you use these on composite deck boards when doing mitered corners on step boards
Yes, you sure can use with with composite decking.
Do you measure the thickness of the material you're drilling or the thickness of the material you are screwing in to?
All the settings you see in the manual are for when both pieces of your wood are the same size. When working with lumber of two different thicknesses, you will use the smaller thickness settings and screw size.
Drill size is not indicated, so I assume this is for standard Kreg pocket screws. Does Kreg make an sell this jig in the heavy duty size (nominal 1/2 inch)?
The drill size for the 310 is 3/8". The KJHD is the one that will drill a 1/2". https://www.kregtool.com/shop/pocket-hole-joinery/pocket-hole-jigs/kreg-jig-hd/KJHD.html
Do I need to use Kreg® Pocket-Hole Screws when joining wood?
We strongly recommend using Kreg® Pocket-Hole Screws, which are designed specifically for pocket-hole joinery. Kreg Screws include many special features for this application, such as a self-tapping tip that “drills” its own hole, so the screw drives in quickly and easily without splitting the wood and without requiring a pilot hole in the mating workpiece. The head on a Kreg Pocket-Hole Screw is perfectly flat on the underside to mate perfectly with the flat bottom in the pocket hole. When you drive in a Kreg Screw, this flat shape applies force straight toward the screw tip, so it holds the joint tightly together without deforming the pocket, which could split the wood. Kreg Screws are also made in specific lengths to maximize holding power in different material thicknesses, they are made of case-hardened steel to prevent snapping, and they are available in coarse- and fine-thread for optimum holding power. Ordinary woodworking screws and drywall screws aren’t designed for pocket-hole joinery, and are likely to cause splitting or have reduced holding power.
