So disappointed

"The cam basically melted and became useless while trying to dial to a 6. One side worked fine, the other just melted like I was using a philips screwdriver in butter."

B (1/5)

Disappointed

"The first time I used it; worked great but only had one door to do. Today, I started to work on some base cabinet doors, got the jug out and I could not get the cam on one side to slide to the #6 slot. The cam screwdriver slot practically disintegrated while trying to turn the cam to that setting, the plastic is so soft, didn’t hold up at all. Literally the 2nd time this jig was to be used. So disappointing and of course way past purchase date to get a replacement or refund from original purchase place."

Great jig

"This jig works great and takes out the guess work when installing the hinges. I would say it is idiot proof, but then someone would just make a better idiot. This along with other guides made building and mounting cabinet doors easy."

"I feel quite confident of the final results when I use this jig. Especially to end with straight drilled holes, since I have no bench drill"

This Jig Works Every Time

"I love the ease of use on this thing. As long as you know your measurements and overlay, this jig does all the work and the hinges are spaced perfectly every time."

No tear out, simple to use, perfect jig!

"Never installed these-type hinges before, but purchased this jig as I had built new, shaker doors (replacing stock cabinet doors) to give our kitchen a "new" look. This jig made the drilling simple, repeatable, and easy to do. Forstner bit cut through wood easily (both poplar and pine) with no tear-out, etc. At the right depth as well. Highly recomend this product."

Rick S. (5/5)

Low quality, ZERO durability

"Bit didn't cut so much as burn the hole into the door material (hard maple), and bit guide literally melted down after 5 hinges. Not up to normal Kreg standards. Why on earth does the bit guide not have a metal bushing for the bit shank like, say, the pocket hole jig?"

Q&A

If cabinet door has a laminate outer surface will this bit work or will it will it be ruined. Any options if it is not made to drill though thin laminate surface over wood
There is a couple things you can do. You can put tape over the area where you are going to drill, that will help reduce the tear out. You can also start the drill in reverse to cut the top layer and then put in forward to drill. That sometimes will reduce the tear out also.
My offset is 25/32, which is right at 20mm I believe, will I have a problem with this jig?
You will use the 21mm or 3 settings on the jig.
My cabinet doors are concave along the edge on the back of the door. This results in the edge indexer not making contact it the edge of the door. Is there a solution for making this jig work?
No, the inside of the door needs to be square.
What depth settings are possible the concealed hinge jig? I am looking to be able to drill 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" deep.
The Jig only has one setting and that is 1/2".
Ive lost the hex nut used to set / tighten the stop collar on the concealed hinge jig - is it possible to get a replacement - I'm in Australia. Alternatively, what size replacement screw should I buy.

When working with rabbeted doors, do I put the jig on the outermost part of the door, or the inset part?
No the edges will need to be flush.

My jig edge stops have stripped, are there replacements to purchase versus buying the entire jig again?

Why it will not work with wood thickness 18mm? I guess it will not have any problem with that
It will work with lumber that is 18mm thick.
