"The top itself is sublime. Thick, flat and very well finished. And the shipment packaging is the best I’ve ever encountered for such a product. Nary a scratch nor dent is possible given such attention detail. I’ve saved most of the packaging components to repurpose and the small quantity remaining is easily recycled. The top replaced a prior less capable product and I’m sure will serve me very well for many years to come. Well done Kreg!!"
Great bench top for the Kreg work bench table
"I have a 28"x64" Kreg work bench table and since Kreg doesn't make these tops that large I had to order two. One with dog holes and the other without. I ordered a 32"x24" without dog holes and a 32"x48" with dog holes. They fit on the table with a bit of overhang (4" each side) length wise, but it works for clamping to the table. Overall the quality is great, however, a bit pricey. Was going to make my own hard maple butcher block top but this was a quicker way to get it done."

- How come you don't sell the worktop for 64" x 64" ??
- That size of table would be difficult to ship around with the size and weight of it.
- How do I mount the bench top to the Universal Bench?
- Please refer to the instruction manual that comes packaged in the box with the legs for the Universal Bench.
- Do I need to apply a finish or seal the benchtop?
- No. All of our Hardwood Benchtops have a clear coat finish to seal them, and prevent them from warping.
- What type of wood are the bench tops made of?
- Hevea — This is a wood very comparable to maple in hardness however it is a faster growing species and is more renewable than maple. Hevea is one of the most popular types of wood for in-home butcher block countertops.
- What is the size and spacing of the Universal Bench’s dog holes?
- ¾” diameter, spaced 96 mm on center

- What is the benefit of dog holes? Do I need dog holes for my projects?
- Depending on what types of projects you are working on dog holes might be very useful. For woodworking projects in particular, dog holes have many applications. Since they are accurately machined into the surface in a grid pattern, they are perfectly square and you can use them as alignment guides for getting square or 45-degree joints. Using Kreg’s Bench Clamp Base and a Bench Clamp, you can create quick and easy hold down clamps to hold your workpieces in place. Use Kreg VersaGrip clamps through the dog holes to hold workpieces down and in place.
- Are the dog holes compatible with other manufacturers’ dog hole accessories?
- Yes, the dog holes are designed to fit accessories designed for ¾” dog holes.
