I’ve started using the ACS
"I’ve started using the ACS to build out a mudroom bench with overhead cubbies and bottom storage. So far it is serving well. The assembly instructions weren’t bad but they could be improved. The instructions for cutting the anti-chip strip on the track could have been more thorough. It doesn’t tell you that when you finish the cut you’ll need snip off the edge that was cut away. Also the explanation of the use and adjustment of the front blue chip guard on the track saw was very simplistic. Overall I’m very satisfied so far. Next I’m going to try it on wall cabs for the laundry room, and next built-ins for our master walk-in closet. Lastly, be sure to check the parallel guide scales for accuracy regularly. They can get moved around a bit."

"Speeds up panel cutting, and although I'm new to this system, there but several things that could be improved. 1. A faster way to remove the track from the table and put back together. I got two guides so I could rip a full sheet and it takes too long to take the one off the table and put it back on every time. Not excited to cough up the cost of a third track so I don't have to do that. 2. Versa stops should come more easily out of the holes. I have to push them out from the under side. 3. Better way to put the versa stops in the holes that are under the track. 4. Better dust management. The videos that show no dust are misleading. 5. Change the rubber coating on the chip strip so little pieces don't come off and get caught between the saw and the track."

"Setup of the table was a little confusing at times with the provided instructions. So be prepared. I did have to enlarge the holes in the plastic leg clips that slip under the bracket mount. Otherwise it’s cutting precise and woodpecker square. Note: if you bought a second track in hopes of 8’ rips, removal of the mounted table track will require recalibration to reinstall. Or buy a second extra track for long rips."

"Assembly was relatively complicated since it was mostly pictorial and some components weren't easy to identify. Once assembled, it was relatively easy to use exact measurements required some trial and error but the system excels at producing repeated cuts consistently."

"This is my first time using a track saw and project table. The quality and accuracy of my cuts are much better. Works best when cutting a smaller bits off of larger pieces. When doing the opposite, there is not a lot of built in support for the waste. However there are ways to add support. I also like the right-handedness of it."
Q&A
- I am interested in this for my wood shop but a little confused about how you are not making cuts into your workshop table in the videos that were shown. Isn’t there a need for scrap wood or two by fours across the top of the table to avoid cutting into your table?
- When you make your first cut, you will cut a kerf cut into the top. That will be the only time the top will actually be cut. You will set the depth stop on the saw to the thickness of lumber you are using and it will follow in that kerf.
- For the track saw, I see it says it includes a 62” track. Can another track be added to it to make it long enough to rip an 8’ sheet of plywood? And if so, how do they stay together? Besides the extra track, would the adapter piece also need to be bought separately?
