Quick, Convenient Clamping with Automatic Adjustment
Wood Project Clamps are perfect for Kreg Joinery, project assembly, general clamping, and more. Available in two sizes — 3" reach and 6" reach — these versatile clamps have large clamp faces that distribute clamping force evenly and won't mar delicate surfaces. They are compatible with the Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig, R3's, Clamp Pad Adapter and the Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig Portable Base.
Thanks to Automaxx® auto-adjust technology, Wood Project Clamps adjust to match material thickness automatically with a simple squeeze of handles — whether the material is thick, thin, or in between. You can clamp a 2x4 and then a piece of 1/2" plywood without ever readjusting the clamp.
Easy-to-Regulate Clamping Pressure
Easily regulate clamping pressure with a simple thumbscrew. Just set your desired pressure by turning the thumbscrew for more or less pressure. Once the pressure is set, the clamp maintains consistent clamping pressure with every thickness.
Wood Project Clamps are designed to withstand years of heavy use, thanks to heavy-duty, all-metal construction. They also have ergonomic padded grips for comfort and ease-of-use.

Open the jaws of the clamp and back out the adjustment screw to the point where it is loose but not falling out. You should see around 3/8" of threads between the bottom of the head of the screw to where it goes into the handle. You will close the jaws of the clamp all the way, then open them back up. After that, bring the adjustment screw back to the positive about halfway and try to clamp it down.
That adjustment is not an exact adjustment as you may have to tighten or loosen it to get the correct pressure you want to apply. When you are using the clamp, you will want to make sure you are opening the clamp fully when you are moving the clamp. This will allow the Automaxx system to reset to zero each time. You should only need to adjust the adjustment screw if you need to add or take out pressure from the clamp as the clamp will adjust to different thicknesses on its own.
If after the reset the clamp is still not working correctly, please give our Technical Support Team a call at 800-447-8638 M-F 8-5 CST so we can help you out with this.
For best results, always place the large face of your Kreg Face Clamp on the “show side” of your joint. The “show side” is the side that will show on your finished project.
Remove the clamp from the packaging and test the clamp pressure on your material.
If you are happy with the pressure of the clamp, no further adjustment is needed. If you would like more/less clamping pressure, simply open the clamp handles fully. Once open, turn set screw one-half turn (to the positive for more pressure, to the negative for less pressure) to adjust. Try out the clamp on the same material and repeat these steps until the desired pressure is found.
Once you are happy with the clamping pressure, the clamp will maintain this same pressure until you change the setting again. If you would like to increase or decrease clamping pressure, follow the previous steps until the appropriate pressure is met.
To ensure consistent pressure, open the clamp handles completely each time you move the clamp. This allows the Kreg Automaxx system to reset for the correct clamping pressure.
Following these steps will ensure that these clamps will perform their best for all your project-building needs. If you have any additional questions please contact our Support Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
