"Such a handy jig! Bought this mainly for shelf pin holes in a new pantry I built for our kitchen remodel. But I am sure I will be using it for many other projects. As many others have said, this is incredibly easy to use. I did watch a video and read the directions a bit, just to be sure, but you could figure it out just by messing around. Put 4 sets of holes, with about 30 holes each in the pantry and they were all dead on level. Shelves sit perfectly. Also nice it comes with different ways of using it, such as up against a rail or just on the edge of a board. Even though it's plastic, the plastic is pretty heavy duty and the drill holes have metal inserts, so sure this will last a long time. My only criticism is the drill bit that comes with it does not leave the cleanest holes, least it did not for me. I'll be looking for a better bit, if they are out there. One other thing, it's very handy that most everything has spots in the back of the jig for storing the parts of the jig, all except the allen wrench to tighten the stop collar for the drill bit. Guess they forgot. :)"

"I bought this while I was DIY'ing some cabinets. Kreg has put in serious time to make woodworking task really easy. As recommended in some online tutorials, I made a "spacer block" to consistently space me "X" amount of inches from the bottom. After that ising the Kreg shelf pin jig was a breeze. I look forward to see what else they come up with!"

Q&A
- Purchased recommended 5mm pegs (not Kreg) thru Amazon and their 5mm does not fit Kregs peg jig holes. Is Kregs 5mm not true 5mm or is the the reat of the world wrong?
- The Bit will be 5mm. There are tolerances on the bits size and the pins from different manufactures pin sizes.
- The guide Lowes store is selling is miissing the Six hardened-steel drill guides. The staff said it doesn't come with it. This is the most important part, how come it doesn't come with it? In the picture it shows there, but it is not in the package. Is it sold separately? WHY? and where can I buy it?

- What is the thinnest material that you can use a shelf pin for? I'm curious if I could use this on 1x12s which the materials true measurement is 3/4s of an inch thick.
- The Kreg Shelf Pin Jig is designed to work with material thicknesses of at least 5/8". You will have no issue using it on 3/4" material.
