Why does the saw make a different sound when I release the switch?
As the electronic brake engages, it may cause the sound of the saw to change briefly. This is normal. The electronic brake works by briefly reversing the polarity of the saw motor when the switch is released. This reverses the rotation direction of the motor for just a fraction of a second to stop the blade from spinning very quickly. This method is very effective at stopping the blade, and doesn’t cause the wear associated with a mechanical brake.
