Green Mountain High School woods manufacturing students got the chance to experience something a little different this year, thanks to their instructor. Woods and math educator by day, Alex Adkisson, is also the co-creator and educational trainer of the AMPED Curriculum.

Through the AMPED Program, Alex has had the privilege of training students at over 200 schools. He estimates half of those schools no longer have a dedicated shop, with the remaining in need of new technologies. And this is where Alex sees a need for pocket-hole manufacturing. By utilizing Kreg in the Classroom, Alex was able to get Kreg Tools into the hands of his students. And he plans to help other shop teachers do the same through continued efforts to help raise awareness of these programs.

Alex incorporated free project plans and how-to videos, which we provide free on buildsomething.com, into material for his students. Over the course of 11 days, they completed safety training, learned new skills, and used a variety of new tools—including the miter saw, router, jig saw, orbital sander, laser engraver, and more.
They even created their very own personalized toolbox using this project plan from BuildSomething.
